Lia Ouyang Rusli (she/they) is Brooklyn-based composer and artist who performs under the name OHYUNG.

She has scored numerous films, including Eva Victor’s Sorry Baby (A24), Neo Sora’s Happyend (Criterion Channel), Julio Torres’s Problemista (A24), and Shatara Michele Ford’s upcoming Dreams in Nightmares. Her scores for television include Fantasmas (HBO), Photographer (Hulu) and Your Attention Please (Hulu). She wrote the music for Celia Rowlson-Hall’s SISSY, which premiered at Baryshnikov Arts in 2025, and Julio Torres’s comedy special Color Theories (HBO), which originally premiered off-Broadway at Performance Space New York. As a composer, her innovative, genre-defying scores have been recognized by the New York Times, the Hollywood Reporter, Vanity Fair, the A.V. Club, Time Out and Variety.

Drawing on ambient soundscapes, harsh noise and euphoric pop, OHYUNG brings together disparate sounds and influences in her music. Her ambient records include IOWA, celebrated by Pitchfork as a "chilling, starkly beautiful ambient album," and imagine naked!, a "masterful selection of muscular, shuddering, trembling ambient excursions" (The Quietus) that was hailed by NPR as one of the 50 Best Albums of 2022 and by PopMatters as the #1 Ambient Record of 2022. Her 2025 record You Are Always On My Mind was described by Paste Magazine as an "unpredictable masterpiece" that moves between "bantam electronic gestures, blow-out raptures, raver torrents, and light shifts."

She has performed for SXSW, Boiler Room, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and you can find her performing in many clubs and venues in New York such as Nowadays, Market Hotel, LSD, Roulette, Elsewhere, Chaos Computer, and Trans Pecos. As a DJ, she is the host of Stray Dogs, a monthly radio show blending Asian diasporic music, techno, and experimental sounds for The Lot Radio, and has played venues in New York City and internationally.
